Applied Technologies & Managed Services in Healthcare
RFID in healthcare
RFID has an important part to play in healthcare. ALOPEK ASSET TRACKING SYSTEMS (ALOPEK A.T.S) can help improve infection control and reduce dispensing errors. They can help monitor maintenance activities and locate critical equipment. ALOPEK A.T.S healthcare solutions include real time asset location, staff tracking and maintenance management.
Better patient care
Caring for patients in the public and private medicine demands effective use of assets and medication if the resources available are not to be outstripped by ever rising demand for services. Automated identification systems, such as RFID, can help by improving control of assets, increasing the efficiency of the supply chain, reducing fraud and theft and increasing patient safety.
Different RFID technologies provide users with a range of capability and cost choices. ALOPEK can help select the most relevant for the requirements in your business.
LF & HF Passive
Low Frequency and High Frequency passive tags have a low cost of implementation but relatively short read ranges.
Ultra High Frequency passive tags are more expensive and the tags are generally larger but offer read ranges typically of up to 10 metres.
These systems have battery assisted tags that activate their on-board power when a reader is detected. More expensive than passive tags, semi-passive tags offer much greater read ranges.
Active tags are similar to semi-passive tags in having on-board batteries. Active tags can announce their presence sometimes to existing network hardware rather than relying on a reader to trigger them.
LooK@MyChild™ Infant Security System provides state of the art RFID protection that modern facilities demand while allowing staff, parents, and other visitors mobility as well as open access to the unit.
Alopek Security Technologies offers three types of infant tags: our exclusive umbilical tag, a wrist/ankle tag and our skin sensing tag. The umbilical tag is attached to the infant's umbilical cord clamp, deterring potential abductors from removing the tag. The standard wrist/ankle tag is easily applied with a one of a number of tamper resistant bands. The skin sensing tag is attached to the infant's wrist or ankle and has the unique ability to sense if it has been removed from the infant. Because the LooK@MyChild™ system supports three types of tags, your facility has the freedom to choose which tag is best for you.
As part of your overall security program, LooK@MyChild is an effective deterrent for infant abduction and switching threats. Most importantly, the system allows staff to focus on quality care giving.
